Storage hatch door stuck

OK, post 2  ;D

Our 2011 Mk3 Murranji arrived yesterday after being flatbed-trucked from VIC.
Everything seems OK except I cannot open the storage hatch on the RHS - the one opposite the kitchen.

It has a lockable turning latch and a standard non-locking hatch. It unlocks and they both turn freely but the hatch won't open, it feels like either:

* the front non-locking latch inside has come away from the latch handle, or
* something inside the hatch has moved and is stopping it from pulling away to open.

Any ideas on what to check and do before I try to remove the hinge pins?

Cheers

Can you see through from the kitchen side what is going on?

I did slide the kitchen side out to see through but it looks like the compartments are divided? I'll inspect further this afternoon

Only other option is to get a pole and push at anything blocking the catch via the small "tent pole" space in front of the kitchen - it goes the whole way through to the other side... There might be something blocking the catch.

These catches have a reputation for jamming. You can try pushing the door in whilst pushing the button. There are likely a number of old posts on here on the topic, it is just a matter of finding them with the search function. From memory it is possible the catches can be adjusted (once you have the hatch open) or at a minimum lubricated with a dry lube (Selleys Ezy Glide which you can even use on canvas zips).
You could also try ringing Track Trailer for advice however not sure if there are any long termers left there now after the change of ownership

Update: got it sorted. I think something inside was wedged up against the inside of the door. I pushed on the door and twisted the handle, repeat, repeat and it eventually came good.
Thanks all

I've been tempted to build in a small catch cover, so that items inside cannot jam the catch shut... Will consider it again now!

Let us know how you go as I can see that gear inside the hatch shifting around could cause this to happen regularly
