Roof net for Mark 1 tvan

I am making a roof net for our Tvan mark 1, and would really value any information that people have about attaching it to the ceiling, which at present is unlined.  We are uncomfortable about drilling holes through the fibreglass, and also wondering about rivets with stainless steel washers and using a butyl based sealant on the roof.
We have just bought the Tvan and are enthusiastic about refurbishing it before setting out on our first adventure.  Generally it is in good condition, and just needs a bit of a tidy up, upgrading the solar panel, checking seals, a thorough health check then off we'll go.
